Unlockd expands leadership team with two new executive positions

Market leading ad and content-funded mobile platform Unlockd, today announced two new executive roles based in the Unlockd London office, with Jonathan ‘JC’ Oliver joining as Global Chief Creative Officer and Matt Von der Muhll appointed as Chief Revenue Officer.

JC Oliver is an award-winning digital creative, strategist, evangelist and investor with over 25 years’ global media experience. A regular on stage at the world’s leading innovation conferences including Cannes Lions, SXSW and dmexco, Oliver will, take the reins on strategic creative direction for Unlockd, a company which is changing the way people use and pay for their digital devices and provides a platform for engaging, targeted content to be delivered to smartphone users.

Whilst he cut his teeth at global heavyweights like Sky, BBC and The Economist, it was in his nearly 10 years at Microsoft as Global Head of Innovation and his most recent role as Global Chief Creative Officer at AOL / Verizon that he honed his craft and built a reputation as one of the world’s leading digital brand strategists.

Matt Von der Muhll has been with Unlockd since 2015 as a seed investor and one of the first employees during which time he has been leading the company’s overall commercial revenue strategy, utilizing his vast experience in the media technology sector to formulate the commercial structure of the business, foundation processes & global relationships including network partnerships with industry leading advertising agencies including Dentsu Aegis, IPG and WPP.

In his new position as Chief Revenue Officer, he will oversee all commercial aspects of the business with respect to revenue generation, along with advertising operations & ad serving, programmatic technology and strategic partnerships. He will continue to build the Unlockd business into an industry-leading mobile platform changing the way consumers interact with brands and content providers.

Von der Muhll will take up his new role this month. Prior to joining Unlockd, he served as the Managing Director, APAC for online video advertising company SpotXchange. Von der Muhll began his career in the digital advertising & technology industry by building media partnerships for Adconion Media Group (acquired by Singtel) across the Asia Pacific region. He is also a member of the Ad Tech Advisory Council.
